Ludovic Subran | Chief Investment Officer |  Chief Economist at Allianz

Ludovic Subran is the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Economist at Allianz, Europe’s largest insurer and investor. In this dual role, he leads the company’s global economic research and investment strategy, providing insights that shape Allianz’s approach to macroeconomic trends, financial markets, and sustainable growth.

Prior to his current position, Subran served as Chief Economist at Allianz Trade (formerly Euler Hermes), the world leader in trade credit insurance. His earlier career includes roles at the World Bank, the United Nations World Food Program, and the French Ministry of Finance, where he contributed to economic policy design in over 30 countries, particularly during the 2007–2008 food and financial crises.

Subran is a Senior Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government, and a member of the French Council of Economic Advisers (Conseil d’Analyse Économique), advising the Prime Minister on economic policy. He also serves on the board of Mercy Corps, a leading humanitarian NGO.

Recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, a Millennium Fellow of the Atlantic Council, and a David Rockefeller Fellow of the Trilateral Commission, Subran has been honored with the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite by the French Republic.
