Mujtaba Rahman 

Mujtaba (Mij) Rahman is Managing Director for Europe and Co‑Head of the London Office at Eurasia Group, where he leads the firm’s analysis and advisory work on European politics, macro‑policy, and geopolitical risk. He helps institutions and multinational clients navigate the macro‑politics of Brussels, including the EU’s response to Russia’s war in Ukraine, Eurozone fiscal and climate policy, Franco‑German relations, and EU relations with the UK, Turkey, and Ukraine.

A former economist at the European Commission’s Directorate‑General for Economic and Financial Affairs and the UK Treasury, Rahman brings deep policy experience to the stage, and he is a senior visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and an adjunct lecturer at Sciences Po teaching political risk. He is a frequent commentator in the Financial Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Bloomberg, and has written for The Guardian, Politico Europe, and the New Statesman, making him a sought‑after keynote speaker on Europe’s shifting order and the future of the EU.
