David is an internationally recognised expert on consumer trends, innovation, and social change. He is the founder of New World Same Humans, a weekly newsletter on trends, technology, and society, which goes out to 14K subscribers each week.

Between 2012 and 2020 David was the Global Head of Trends & Insights at TrendWatching, the leading consumer trends firm.

David’s business, innovation and trends journalism has appeared everywhere from Fast Company to the Guardian to Google Think Quarterly. As an experienced broadcaster, David has also written and presented documentaries for BBC Radio 4.

He is co-inventor of the Trend-Driven Innovation method, and co-author of a book by that name published by Wiley in 2015.

In 2018 David was appointed to the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Consumption, which brings together leading experts from industry, academia and the public sector promote innovative thinking on the future of consumerism.

An in-demand speaker, David has spoken on trends, technology, business and social change at leading conferences all over the world, including The Next Web, 15 Seconds, and the NEXT Conference. He’s presented to global teams and boardrooms at a wide range of leading brands, including Mastercard, Virgin, Google, Universal Music, Marriott, and many more.
